HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and were able to spend lots of quality time with family and friends.  I’m looking forward to continuing to make positive changes in our county over this coming year with an emphasis on transparency, efficiency, and simplification.  If you have any specific needs, please never hesitate to reach out to me.  I’m always at your service.

HIGHLIGHTS

PUBLIC SAFETY/LAW ENFORCEMENT:
(1-23-5) – Request to except $125,000 from Emergency Communications District to add additional 911 call operators. PASSED  24-0

INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATES:
(1-23-9) – Request for $195,100 for county-wide Stormwater Infrastructure Assessment (to be complete in approximately 6 months).  PASSED 24-0

TAX UPDATES:
(1-23-16) – Request made to state legislature to allow local governments the ability to craft a mechanism to provide a tax relief program to certain historical commercial properties. PASSED – 17 to 7

According to Tourism Economics, Williamson County receives an estimated $89,000,000 in tax dollars from tourist dollars.  This is 13% of our tax revenue and gives each household a tax break of $1100.  The primary tourist attraction for our county is downtown Franklin.
